Cynthia Ann (Cindy) Gutierrez, MA, CCC-SLP is a bilingual speech language pathologist (English, Spanish) who joined Speech Pathology PRN in 2024.
Why did you become a speech language pathologist?
Initially I had planned to go into nursing; however, my son began to stutter and I was compelled to learn more about it. When I returned to the University as a single mom, I researched speech pathology and fell in love with the field.
What do you feel are your areas of specialization?
I seem to always feel an attachment to the area of stuttering. However, I love working with children with developmental disorders, autism, and Down syndrome. I love working with children using my Spanish language skills.
A fun fact about Cindy: I recently moved to the Austin area to be close to my only son and two grandchildren.
