Alina Samusevich, MS, CCC-SLP is a tri-lingual speech language pathologist (English, Russian, Spanish) who joined Speech Pathology PRN in 2023.
Why did you become a speech language pathologist?
I was initially studying to become a clinical psychologist, but learned about speech pathology through my linguistics and clinical courses as a related field. It perfectly blends two of my greatest interests – language and helping people.
What do you feel are your areas of specialization?
I specialize in working with children with speech and language difficulties, particularly babies up to elementary-aged children. I have extensive experience working with children with hearing loss using auditory verbal methods. I am also a multilingual provider who has undergone additional specialized training to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to children and adolescents. I am very passionate about working with my students and their families in order for them to achieve their maximum communication potential.
A fun fact about Alina: I had a lisp when I was younger, and did not start talking until I was two!
